Baylor Street Art Wall
While I would advise heading out on a cooler day, my visit to the Baylor Art Wall was still quite exciting, even in the midst of a scorching Texas summer. Despite living in Austin for a decade, the Hope Outdoor Gallery a.k.a. Baylor Art Wall was one of those community spots that seemed a bit too touristy for me. Out-of-town guests are always a wonderful reason to be a tourist in your hometown, so off we went into the heat to investigate the graffiti art.
Parking is questionable at best, and the spray paint fumes are distinctly noticeable, but the multi-level space is full of locals painting, taking selfies, admiring the skyline view, and passing by the changing artspace. The bright colors and high-quality art were impressive, and the downtown location offered a great chance to appreciate the highrises, construction, and architectural change that defines Austin these days.
All in, it is worth a visit.
