Texas Capitol Lawn
The Texas Capitol has more to offer than granite and 1800s architecture. On hot summer days, the grounds offer some of the best shade in town. With plush, fluffy grass, and sprawling trees, it is a fantastic spot for a picnic or to take a stroll with the family.
I recently paid a visit to the capitol for some susnet photos, only to find the building covered with scaffolding and netting, but it was hard to be disappointed when I could enjoy the Texas sky and walk around barefoot without fear. The entire space is family-friendly, and in the early evenings, after the staffers have ventured home and the tourists have headed to dinner, the grounds are tranquil and quiet.
Just watch out for the crowds of lanky teens playing Pokemon Go after the sun goes down.
